Editorial by Paul Bowyer
Welcome to V-Blue, the e-magazine for those fresh to the wonderful game of bridge.
In this eighth issue there are - as ever - three series for you. Two series (of six hands each) are on the subject of Entries. We have alluded to this topic already in some of our earlier editions - now we are going to pin this issue down and analyze it fully.
We are going to look at the idea of blockages and of the overtaking plays that we need to overcome the roadblocks that we often encounter when playing the dummy. There are six straightforward deals in the first series and six slightly trickier deals in the second.
Our third series, of eight deals, is our "General Series" where we mix up some hands and ideas from previous editions of VuBridge. Some of these deals are easy... and some of them less so.
You can further test yourself with our quiz – this time on the topic of responding to limit raises, a topic that we looked at in the last issue.
There's lots for you to get your teeth into here - Bon appetit!
Series #2206 - Entries - Part I (ACOL)
This set of deals is all about Entries. We have already given you a few deals in Vu-Bridge where you have to be in the right hand at the right time; now - in these two sets of six deals - we are going to explain this idea in more detail.
As well as undertanding the general term "Entry" you will also have to understand the terms "Blockage" and what it means to overtake a trick.
Limit Raises Quiz
This quiz is all about hands where you raise your partner's suit or he raises yours. A raise of a suit is a limit bid - it tells partner that you can support his suit and it tells partner how strong you are.

Series #2207 - Entries - Part II (ACOL)
This set of deals continues the theme of Entries. The previous series looked at simple ideas, these deals are trickier. Only slightly harder, mind - we wouldn't want to make things too difficult...
