Editorial by Paul Bowyer
Welcome to the fifteenth edition of VuBridge Expert Kit.
In this edition we take a look at card reading. These two series of six deals each are all about how to read the opponents' cards, especially how to locate missing honors. The first series looks at how to make the all-important King-Jack guesses, the second series is all about making deductions from the bidding to locate missing cards.
Working out who has what is an important part of the game, and in many ways these two series dovetail neatly with our series on counting. These hands, though, may add an additional layer of deduction.
The third series, as ever, contains eight deals all on the theme of counting. As usual, these are tantalizing hands, written up by British expert Ben Norton, where the focus is on determining the opponents’ hand patterns and honor cards in order to determine the optimum line of play. A vital part of your skill set that needs constant practice. Lots of bang for your buck in this issue. Enjoy!
Reading the Cards - Part I
This series of six deals is all about how to read the opponents' cards, especially how to make an all-important King-Jack guess.
Working out who has what is an important part of the game, and in many ways dovetails with the series on counting. These hands, though, may add an additional layer of deduction.
Reading the Cards - Part II:
This series of six deals is all about deductions in the bidding to locate missing cards.
Some of these deductions are fairly elementary, some are more subtle. Are you Sherlock Holmes or Dr Watson?
