A: A major - North has not used Stayman, therefore he has no 4-card major and South has no 5-card major, but they could have long minors.

A: A Diamond - 3♦ was 4th-suit-forcing. North must have weakness there, and was asking for a stopper from his partner to play in NT.

South has shown a Diamond stopper, but even if they have one, they don't have length, so you have high hopes of setting up some tricks there.

A trump lead might be a good idea to stop this, if your hand is suitable for it. (The best trump lead is from three low)
