Asking for Aces tells partner that there are controls in all suits outside trumps.

A: 6♠ – With 17 HCP opposite a pretty strong hand you could think about a grand slam, but partner’s 5♥ response - showing 2 key-cards without the trump Queen - should dissuade you from it. Your partner does not have the ♠Q and bidding a grand slam with the Queen of trumps missing would not be reasonable.
