This calendar observance is just too tempting and likely to set me off on one of my tirades. So I'm not going to say one single word...

EXCEPT!! I would like to nominate my little dog Sparky for president. He loves everyone as long as they don't step in our yard, knows if he eats all his treats now, he won't have any for later. He also firmly believes all dogs are created equal and deserve a nice warm soft lap.

A: 2♠: Why didn't Pard double on his first chance to bid? A double of 1♦ would have promised at least 4-3 in the majors and shortness in Diamonds. Now we know he has four Clubs and four Spades. We can support Spades, but let's not go crazy here. We've only got 6 rocky points.

A: 3 No-trump: Yes, yes, we know we only have 9 High Card Points and a 4-3-3-3 hand. BUT!! Members of the Sparky Party are born optimists and we like all those intermediates.
